Segura knocks out Calderon, unifies title!

WBA light flyweight champion Giovanni Segura (25-1-1, 21KOs) of Mexico added the WBO title to his waist by knocking out previously undefeated Ivan Calderon (34-1-1, 6KOs) of Puerto Rico in the eight round at the Coliseo Mario ‘Quijote’ Morales in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Calderon did well with his boxing but appeared to fade in the later rounds. He started to take a lot of punishment and was cut as the fight came to the eight round.

Segura started to overwhelm him with punches and a hard hook to the body sent Calderon down for the full count. The fight was very exciting from start to finish.
