Magee stops MarkussenWBA interim-super middleweight champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25KOs) retained his title with a fifth round knockout over Danish challenger Rudy Markussen (37-3, 24KOs). Magee took out his opponent with a southpaw left hook to the body. Markussen sank to his knees and was counted out in the act of rising. The fight was even after four but Magee´s steady boxing was beginning to take over. The Dane threw some powerful punches, and landed in the first round with two solid right hands but then after being tagged himself in the second he became a lot more hesitant. Still, the end came out of the blue. It was scored 38-38 on all cards after four.
