On Friday, August 7, 2015, at Coliseo El Cangrejo in San Antero, Colombia, interim WBA World female super bantamweight champion Liliana “La Tigresa” Palmera (24-11-3, 15 KOs), from Monteria, Colombia, defends her title against former WBA World female super bantamweight champion Chantall “La Fiera” Martinez (18-6, 7 KOs), from David, Panama, in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds.

Thirty-three-year-old Palmera turned pro in January 1999 at the age of 16.

She won the interim WBA World female super bantamweight title on October 14, 2014, at Coliseo Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, when she defeated Ana Lozano (8-2 coming in) by unanimous decision.

Palmera’s first defense of the crown occurred three and a half months later, on February 6, 2015, when she beat Alys Sanchez (13-2-1), at Coliseo Mario de León in Cerete, Colombia.

Tonight’s fight will be La Tigresa’s second defense of her title.

Her opponent, twenty-five-year-old Martinez, turned pro at the age of 15.

La Fiera won the WBA Fedefem super bantamweight title on October 2, 2010, by stopping Ogleidis Suarez (12-1-1) at Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama. Six months later at the same venue, Martinez decisioned Lisa Brown (18-4-3 at the time) to win the WBA World female super bantamweight title.

She successfully defended the crown two times, before losing a decision and the belt to Jackie Nava (25-4-3).

The judges for tonight’s bout are Reina Urbaez, Hernando Steidel, and Carlos Diaz.

The referee is Romina Arroyo.
