Former world champion Hilario Zapata, opened with the support of the World Boxing Association a boxing Gym on October 1, located at Ciudad del Futuro, sector C, Arraijan, Panama.

He was accompanied by his family and friends during the religious ceremony that marked the beginning of the life Project of the former champion.

“It is something I have dreamed about for a very long time. At first I wanted to start in big, but things complicated a bit, but I am a man of God and I waited”. Said Zapata.

The former champion remodeled the garage and terrace of his house to turn it in a boxing gym. He hung the punching bags, mats, gloves, bandages and all his boxing stuff.

“I want to work with children to teach them everything I know, I want to help in their formation as men of God and my son will assist me on the trainings”.

“I had a rough path and that is why nobody trusted me. But I thank all the support the World Boxing Association has given me. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for believing in me. This is the beginning, it a humble proposal but I trust we will grow and it will be better”. Said the champion.
