WBA minimumweight champion Román González of Nicaragua retained his title for the fourth time with a four round demolition of Mexican challenger Ivan Meneses in the Auditorio Siglo XXI in Puebla, Mexico.

From the opening bell, the champion imposed his will on Meneses and never let up. Referee Robert Hoyle intervened after the fourth round to stop the uneven battle. González moved to 25-0 with 21 KOs, while Meneses fell to 14-6-1, 8 KOs.
