Saldivia keeps WBA Fedelatin Belt

WBA # 5 ranked and WBA Fedelatin welterweight champion Hector David Saldivia of Argentina (33-1, 26 KOs) completely destroyed Ricardo Cano of Mexico (16-7-5, 9 KOs) by way of fourth round TKO on Saturday night at the Club Atletico Racing, Trelew, Chubut, Argentina. Cano, who was coming in off of an upset win in his previous fight where he decisioned Jorge Paez Jr. was simply overpowered by the high volume and harder punching Saldivia. Though he never went down, Cano was issued and unheard of THREE standing eight counts in four rounds. Each time he was getting badly punished and pummeled along the ropes when he was issued the standing eights. Cano was firing back but his punches had no effect on Saldivia. The bout was mercifully stopped in round four when Cano’s corner threw in the towel to stop the punishment.
