Congratulations to the Heavyweight champion Alexander PovetkinToday, we join the celebration of the heavyweight world champion Alexander Povetkin who turns 34 years old. We send Povetkin our most affectionate words of greetings for the Heavyweight king on behalf of the World Boxing Association family.

He was born in Kursk, in September 2, 1979. He has always been linked to the sport of boxing and managed to defend his country colors in National Team where he made an excellent record.

Besides, Povetkin was the champion of the Athens national Olympic games 2004.  He turned pro the following year where he has accumulated a record of 26-0 and18 KO´s.

In August 2011 he became the WBA world champion defeating Ruslan Chagaev. He has defended his title for times.
