Clara Lescurat knocked out in France and retained her belt

In one key experience of her professional career, the World Boxing Association 115 lbs. world champion Clara Lescurat defeated with a resounding knockout in the eighth round to Brazilian boxer Daniela De Jesus Aguiar and sealed the second defense of her reign on French soil on Wednesday.

At first, Clara’s commitment was scheduled to fight the Chilean fighter Daniela Asenjo in order to unify titles, since Asenjo is the IBO super flyweight champion. But an injury prevented  Asenjo to fight and led to a change of opponent for Lescurat’s scheduled defense at the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris, France.

The new challenger, the 23-year-old “Chocolate” Aguiar, received a great opportunity in her first world title shot and her first time out of Brazil. And, although the experience in the sport was on the side of the Argentine representative, Aguiar came out from the first bell to give battle demonstrating the desire for glory in her fists.

Despite the impetus on the part of the Carioca, Lescurat took the fight to her ground; to the one of speed and volume of punches that finally led to the stoppage of the fight in the eighth round.

In this way, Clara Lescurat raises her record to 9 wins with 4 quick finishes. Not only does she remain undefeated having made her first rented submission on foreign soil but she also remains a black and gold world champion.
