Saturday night at the Capital Gym in Beijing, China, WBA Fedebol featherweight champion Nehomar Cermeño (24-5-1, 14 KOs), fighting out of Panama City, Panama, knocked out WBA International super bantamweight champion Jun Qiu Xiao (20-3, 9 KOs), from Suzhou, China, in the 12th round to win the vacant WBA World super bantamweight title.

Cermeño dropped Jun in the second and dominated the fight. Referee Luis Pabon stopped it at 1:11 of the final round.

In other action, WBA Oceana and WBA International super featherweight champion Can Xu (9-2), from Kunming, China, scored a unanimous decision over WBA-PABA super featherweight champion Corey McConnell (15-2-1, 2 KOs), from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, after 12 rounds to retain his titles.
