The spotlight of the boxing world returns to Saudi Arabia to close out the month with one of the most anticipated matchups in the 168-pound division. On Saturday, October 31, Riyadh will host Mexican star Jaime Munguía as he puts his World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight world title on the line against dangerous, undefeated Russian challenger Nikita Zon.

For Munguía, this fight represents an ideal opportunity to reaffirm his status as a world champion and showcase his continued development on the sport’s biggest international stages. The Tijuana native will enter the ring with his trademark offensive arsenal: relentless pressure, extended combinations, and a dangerous hook. Munguía will need to be methodical at mid-range, cutting off the ring with purposeful footwork to neutralize Zon’s ability to box from the outside and force him into a sustained battle of attrition.

Standing across the ring will be Zon, a contender with a solid technical foundation, respectable punching power, and the ambition of a fighter with everything to gain and nothing to lose. Aware of the ferocity with which Munguía typically starts his fights, the Russian will need to rely on his long jab to disrupt the champion’s early attacks, use lateral movement to avoid getting trapped against the ropes, and capitalize on openings Munguía leaves when unleashing combinations by firing sharp counters.

The card, once again backed by Riyadh Season, promises a fascinating clash between Munguía’s devastating power, relentless pace, and experience on elite boxing cards and Zon’s composure, reach, and dangerous counterpunching ability.

Saudi Arabia and Riyadh Season will once again deliver a high-caliber boxing spectacle, further cementing the sport’s status as one of the most widely followed and exciting forms of competition worldwide.
