The WBA Future Champions of Colombian Boxing program will kick off its 2026 season this Saturday, March 14, at the Galapa Municipal Coliseum as part of the Gilberto Mendoza Festival.
The event will open with several matchups featuring local amateur fighters, building up to the main attraction — an eight-round bout for the World Boxing Association’s Fedecaribe welterweight belt between Venezuela’s Deiver Ávila and Santa Marta native Daimer Guerra.
A number of promising Colombian prospects are also scheduled to appear on the card, including rising youngster Yordys Castilla, who will take on seasoned Venezuelan Víctor Malaver in a six-round clash. Jesús Maza, Santiago Ardila, and Galapa’s own Luis García — all viewed as potential future headliners — are likewise expected to showcase their talent.
From Bogotá, Daniel España will step in against veteran Luis Díaz Mármol in an eight-round lightweight contest, while Dominican fighter Kevin Guerrero is set for a showdown with Venezuela’s Eudes Trujillo.
The entire card will be broadcast live on the World Boxing Association’s official YouTube channel and on regional network Telecaribe.
Through initiatives like WBA Future, the organization continues to stage events aimed at creating opportunities and accelerating the development of top young prospects.
