The World Boxing Association (WBA) will make its way to Fiji this weekend for a double championship event, as Suva’s Vodafone Arena hosts two WBA Oceania title fights this Saturday night.
In the main event, Australia’s veteran Francia Chua will face Mikaele Ravalaca for the WBA Oceania super lightweight title, while the co-main event will feature Junior Binnu Singh against Apichart Klintai for the WBA Oceania interim super bantamweight crown.
Chua, a 39-year-old seasoned fighter from Australia, is coming off a victory over Xiaotao Su in his most recent bout. He’ll be up against 22-year-old Ravalaca, a local prospect whose steady rise and strong record have made him one of Fiji’s most promising young fighters.
In the co-feature, 25-year-old Fijian Binnu Singh will look to claim the regional belt for the pioneer sanctioning body, but standing in his way is Thailand’s Apichart Klintai, a 24-year-old making his first appearance outside his home country and eager to spring an upset.
Fiji’s boxing fans are in for a major treat this Saturday, with a stacked card featuring more than ten bouts, headlined by the two WBA Oceania championships.
