This Saturday, the WBA Future of Colombian Boxing returns to the Cuadrilátero Élite Gym in Barranquilla, bringing a full slate of rising talent to center stage. The event, organized by the Atlántico regional boxing league, will feature ten amateur bouts as a prelude to five professional clashes showcasing the best young prospects in the country.
In the main event, Rodolfo “Papo” Puentes will square off against Andrés Peñaloza in a super bantamweight showdown. In the co-feature, undefeated fighter Wilmer Calderón, from Santa Marta, takes on Cartagena’s Eliécer Utria in the super flyweight division.
The undercard will also spotlight several other young, highly promising Colombian fighters, continuing the mission of the WBA Future program: to support the growth of boxing and its athletes while giving them a platform to be seen by the world.
The action will be broadcast live on the World Boxing Association’s official YouTube channel, starting at 1:30 p.m. local time.
