World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight champion Terri Harper will make the first defense of her belt against boxing legend Cecilia Braekhus this Saturday in Dublin, Ireland.

The bout will be part of the Matchroom Boxing evening which will feature Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron facing off in the main event and will feature some great women’s fights.

Harper is coming off a unanimous decision win over Hannah Rankin in September to take the crown from her in a dominant performance despite moving up in class. The Brit wants to keep the belt in her possession and has worked hard to get a win this weekend.

Braekhus is one of the greatest female boxers in history and reigned at welterweight for years. She suffered back-to-back losses to Jessica McCaskill between 2020 and 2021 but now feels she has recovered and will make inroads into the next division with the intention of becoming champion again.

The champion has a record of 13 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 6 knockouts. The challenger has a record of 37 wins, 2 losses and 9 knockouts.
