Kenshiro Teraji once again put on a brilliant performance in the ring and knocked out Anthony Olascuaga on Saturday to retain his World Boxing Association (WBA) light flyweight belt and his WBC belt.

The Japanese got a ninth round knockout after a dominant performance in which he showed strength, speed and ring dominance to confirm himself as the top fighter in the category.

The Ariake Arena in Koto Ku was dressed up for a new presentation of Teraji, who made the first defense of his black and gold belt. The body work and punching combinations were the key to his victory and although Olascuaga entered the ring with an aggressive mentality, there was little he could do.

Teraji held the first seconds of each round, in which Olascuaga attacked him mercilessly but with good movement and counterattacks he was able to turn the actions around and get in control in each episode to the point of being the one who attacked the American.

The monarch managed to knock down Olascuaga twice in the bout, until in the ninth a knockdown caused the referee not to make the count and decided that the bout should not continue.

Kenshiro left his record at 21 wins, 1 loss and 13 knockouts. Olascuaga dropped his record to 5 wins, 1 loss and 3 knockouts.
