Four days of activities, hundreds of guests and a century of history completed the World Boxing Association (WBA) Centennial Convention, which was held from December 11 to 14 in Orlando, Florida.

It was a great celebration at the Caribe Royale Hotel, which served to talk about different WBA current issues, review the history and serve as a meeting point for so many champions and celebrities who attended the convention.

Personalities such as Bernard Hopkins, Evander Holyfield, Dmitry Bivol, Jake Paul, Franchón Crews Dezurn, Nonito Donaire, Jelena Mrdjenovich, Jessie Vargas, Alberto Puello, Hyun Mi Choi, Alycia Baumgardner, among others, were present at the various activities that took place.

President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza took advantage of the occasion to present awards and recognitions to those in attendance, including the Boxer of the Year, Dmitry Bivol, as well as recognitions to the press, promoters and trainers.

Among other outstanding activities were the initial board meeting, the judges and referees seminars, the medical seminar, in which the topic of mental health was discussed with Bernard Hopkins and great specialists.

Beyond the fruitful working days, the convention is a meeting point for boxing and its protagonists. The WBA was very happy to see how comfortable all the attendees were and how they expressed it both in person and through their social networks, where many shared their thanks.

100 years of history summarized in four days, but also a starting point for a new era, in which the WBA will continue to seek solutions to current problems and for boxing to be better and better.
