Thai prospect Phoobadin Yoohanngoh will step into the ring again this Saturday to defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Asian super lightweight crown against Filipino Rimar Metuda in Bangkok, Thailand.

The undefeated 18-year-old fighter is the regional champion and has been climbing up the rankings at a rapid pace. He is currently ranked 15th in the WBA 140-pound rankings and is looking for another victory in his young career.

Yoohanngoh will be making the fifth defense of the belt he won in July 2020 when he defeated Somboon Meesitdee tamnien in Bangkok at just 16 years of age.

His opponent in turn will be Metuda, a 28-year-old veteran with more than 20 fights and who has fought in different countries. Metuda wants to take advantage of his experience to surprise the home fighter and keep his title.

Yoohanngoh has 14 wins, no losses and 9 knockouts. Metuda has 16 wins, 6 setbacks, 1 draw and 10 knockouts.
