The harsh reality of Russia’s invasion into Ukraine has forced several athletes and personalities to stay and defend their country in the midst of the conflict. One of them has been Vasyl Lomachenko, who had been away from boxing in recent months but this week received a leave of absence and is already in Los Angeles with his sights set on resuming his sporting activity.

One of the most impressive talents boxing has seen in recent years has begun training and it has been reported that he could fight again in October. “Loma” is a fighter who comes to put more pressure on the 135 pounds, a category plagued with talent that has given great battles recently.

For boxing it is great news that the Ukrainian is doing what he does best, although he does not leave his country aside and spoke about the difficult situation.

“I pray every day for Ukraine, for the people… and stop the war. When I came back to Ukraine, I think it was the second day of war. The mind changes because you see a different life. Nobody knows what happened on this day. It’s very bad. It’s very bad for the world,” Lomachenko said.

When it comes to sports, he has very clear goals and everything points to the fact that he wants the belts: “I have prepared for this moment and I need this opportunity. I need this undisputed fight. Undisputed world champion.
