Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez gave an excellent performance and another step towards his world title shot with his victory this Saturday over Dominic Boesel at the Toyota Arena, in Ontario, California.

The Mexican won in four rounds and consolidates his position as the top ranked light heavyweight fighter in the World Boxing Association (WBA) rankings.

The top-ranked fighter faced Boesel, who had that right because he was the interim champion before the pioneer body’s world title reduction plan began.

Ramirez showed his strength and good boxing to define the fight by knockout and is ready to face his goal of becoming world champion in a new division, which he has been looking for a long time.

The Mazatlan native’s undefeated record now stands at 44 wins and 35 knockouts. Boesel now has 32 wins, 3 losses and 12 knockouts.

Charlo knocked out Castaño to become the new undisputed super welterweight champion
