Mexican prospect William “Camaron” Zepeda remains the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Americas lightweight champion after dominating Nicaraguan veteran Rene Alvarado by unanimous decision in Ontario, California.

Zepeda’s name getting known in the U.S. market and he has made it clear that he is a threat at 135 pounds. On this occasion he obtained cards of 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94 to win a unanimous decision against a fighter like the Central American. 

Zepeda is only 25 years old and has shown strength and quality to aspire to big fights. It was the third defense of the regional belt for the San Mateo Atenco fighter.

Zepeda’s victory was the 26th of his career and the 23rd by knockout. Alvarado gave a good performance after moving up a category but it was not enough and his record was 32 wins and 12 losses.
