Four current World Boxing Association (WBA) world champions gave their analysis and predictions for next Saturday’s fight between Saul Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol, which will take place in Las Vegas.

Lightweight Super Champion George Kambosos Jr, Featherweight Champion Leigh Wood, Super Flyweight Monarch Joshua Franco and Super Featherweight King Roger Gutierrez talked about what they expect from the fight and how they think it will end.

Kambosos believes Alvarez will win by unanimous decision, “I think he will box very intelligently and tear Bivol apart round by round. I think Bivol has a solid jaw and so he will go the distance and test Canelo several times, but he won’t have enough artillery to beat him.”

Leigh Wood also tips the scales towards the Mexican fighter to dethrone Bivol, “I’m predicting a Canelo victory but it may be tough at times, but I think he will do it. He will be making adjustments,” the Englishman stressed.

For his part, American Franco also believes the Mexican will come out with his hands up. “My prediction is that Canelo will win by decision. I see Canelo winning because of his experience and his IQ in the ring. Although it won’t be easy,” assured the San Antonio native.

Finally, Roger Gutierrez agreed with the opinion of the rest and gave favoritism to Alvarez for this week’s bout.

“Canelo will win. It is one of the toughest fights he will have but he is at his best, very strong and very complete. He will win by decision because Bivol is very strong too and I’m sure it will be a war, but I’ll take Canelo,” said the Venezuelan.

Although all agreed that Canelo will win, they also recognized that he faces a tough challenge and that Bivol is a very tough opponent. He is the defending champion and has a physical advantage, so they expect a great fight.
