Mexican Axel Vega (15-4-1,8KO) retained his WBA-Fedecentro title against his fellow Mexican Armando Torres (26-20, 19KO), last Friday night at the BB Auditorium in Mexico City.

The fight was a worthy encounter between Aztecs, both looked for the center of the ring in the first rounds, a battle that Vega dominated better, who attacked successfully and also moved well on the ring when he felt it necessary. In addition, he was the one who punished his opponent the most. However, Torres resisted and complicated Vega in the midst rounds of the fight, but it was not enough.

The judges gave a unanimous decision in favor of Vega: 96-95, 98-93, 97-93. Thus, he successfully retained his WBA-Fedecentro title in his first defense, after being defeated in his last fight for the WBA World Light Flyweight Super Championship against Japan’s Hiroto Kyoguchi.
