Tonight Panama will have the opportunity to have another world champion in the hands of Jaime ‘Jaimito’ Arboleda (16-1, 13 KOs), who will fight the American Chris ‘Primetime’ Colbert (14-0, 5 KOs), for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Interim Super Featherweight Championship, in a closed-door fight at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, United States.

Of course, there is no doubt of the difficulty of the fight and that is why Arboleda trained for 4 months in Florida, thus completing the best camp of his career.

Panamanian fans already know Colbert, who beat former champion Jezreel ‘The Invisible’ Corrales, using counterattack, speed and skill.

The match will be held in Connecticut. For Colbert it is like being at home, since he is a native of Brooklyn; an indication that Arboleda is forced to dominate every round and why not, look for the knockout.

For ‘Jaimito’ it will be his third fight on U.S. soil, while Colbert faces the first defense of the belt he won in January.

The winner will be closer to a fight with Nicaraguan Rene ‘El Gemelo’ Alvarado (WBA Regular Champion) or American Gervonta Davis (WBA Super Champion).

“As for the fight between Colbert and Corrales, things will be different with me, because I have another style,” said Arboleda.

“The most difficult thing about making a camp in times of Covid-19 is the sparring and taking care of your environment so as not to get infected, but on the other hand it is a total concentration. Despite the 10 months since my last fight, there won’t be any problem because I kept active in the gym,’ he said.

Corbert is confident of winning

I predict a dominant performance. My name is Chris ‘Primetime’ Colbert, I have to look spectacular every time. You’ve never seen Deion ‘Primetime’ Sanders go out and not look spectacular,’ he said.

The broadcast for Latin America on ESPN, and Showtime in the United States, should begin at 9:00 pm Panama time.
