The anticipated Heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could happen in 2021. Eddie Hearn (Joshua’s promoter) and Fury himself talked about some details of a two-fight agreement for next year, in which the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Championship and the other heavyweight belts could be at stake; however, the deal has not been signed yet.

Joshua would have to fight against British Dillian Whyte at the end of the year, while Fury would face Deontay Wilder for a third time in fall. Both fighters have to win their previous matches before they could have a unification bout in 2021.

“We’re making great progress”, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn exclusively told Sky Sports News. “There is still a lot to overcome. We are looking at venues and dates”.

Hearn explained that both fighters verbally agreed to the fight and financial terms, but that other details such as the venue and dates have yet to be agreed upon, although they will most likely be fighting in summer.

Joshua-Fury is one of the most anticipated fights in boxing today and could have the titles of the four most important boxing organizations at stake if the conditions are right.
