Boxing is alive again in the United States. With no fans at the arena, and with adrenaline in the ring and a knockout, Top Rank Boxing followed a perfect protocol in terms of sanitation and prevention to hold five fights in times of Covid 19 pandemic. The fights took place inside the so-called “Bubble” located at the MGM Grand Hotel Conference Center.

In the main fight of the night, American Shakur Stevenson knocked out Puerto Rican Felix Caraballo in six rounds, making a successful debut in the super featherweight division. The fight ended with Stevenson’s left hand to the Puerto Rican’s stomach, who went down without strength, forcing referee Tony Weeks to stop actions at 1:31.

During the previous rounds, Stevenson had dominated, and was very accurate with his blows. Although Caraballo was always moving forward he could not do any damage and received several combinations to his body and head.

The heavyweights also had action, as undefeated Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson stopped Johnnie Langston on the fast track at 1:55 of the third round. Meanwhile, Italy’s Guido Vianello knocked out Don Haynesworth in the first round.

Also, the middleweight Quatavious Cash dominated Calvin Metcalf by technical decision in six rounds. Cards: 60-54, 60-55 and 59-55.

Double Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez of Cuba finished with Yeuri Andujar in the first round in 54 seconds at the opening of the evening.

Before the event began, the promotion announced that everyone involved in the event tested negative for Covid-19.

Promoter Bob Arum also confirmed the events for June 16th, 18th and 20th (Mexico), which will all be broadcasted by ESPN.
