Former world champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara and his rival, Mexican native Ramon “El Inocente” Alvarez appeared at a press conference held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, headquarters of the fight they will hold this Saturday.

Lara is looking to reign as champion once again, a title he lost in 2018, while Alvarez will try to reach the glory of champion for the first time in 11 years as a professional boxer.

Both fighters arrived in good condition, with the Cuban native Lara coming into the fight after a draw in New York against the Argentine native Brian Castano, with the Aztec native Alvarez beating his compatriot Jose Carlos Paz, in Sonora, Mexico.

At the press conference respect prevailed, having as a novelty the return of coach Ismael Salas, who returned to Lara’s team after 9 years of absence.

The first to give statements was Lara, who said: “We are both strong, it will be a good fight. When we reach the sixth round you will see my power. I have to recover my place at the top and for that, you have to make a great presentation.”

As for the return of his former coach, the Cuban added: “I thank Ronnie Shields for all that has been achieved, now I am back with Master Ismael Salas and things have been done in the best way, in fact, training in Las Vegas did me good.”

Like a Mexican warrior, Ramon Alvarez responded with firmness and security “The fight between Lara and my brother is something else, I have been working hard to achieve my own goals, that’s why I prepared myself and I’m focused on this test and nothing else,” said the Mexican native.

“Not only am I thinking about making history, but I will make history on Saturday night. The Alvarez brothers will make more history for Mexico when I win this title,” he concluded.
