Eduardo Ramirez will go to the ring this Saturday at the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas, to take on Claudio Marrero in a fight that will take place at featherweight and will have the World Boxing Association (WBA) Gold Title at stake.

The Mexican warrior will have a great challenge in front of a left-handed fighter such as Marrero, who has experience in championship fights and has an uncomfortable style that makes the fight for the belt of the oldest sanctioning body in the world a very interesting one.

On Friday afternoon, both climbed the scales to mark the 126 pound regulation of the weight class, with “Zurdito” stopping the scale at 125.2 pounds while the native of Santo Domingo nicknamed “The Matrix” made a weight of 125.8 pounds, which leaves them enabled to fight for the title.

The Gold Title is not a world title but the winner becomes the mandatory challenger of the division and earns the right to fight the champion for the World Title. Ramirez and Marrero have the opportunity to move up in the division thanks to this fight and win that opportunity in the short term.

Ramirez has a record of 22 wins, 1 loss, 3 draws and 9 knockouts, while Marrero has a record of 23 wins, 3 losses and 17 knockouts.
