In advance of Friday’s championship fights at the Capital Gym in Beijing, China, the fighters had no difficulty making weight at today’s weigh-in.

In the main event, WBA World super featherweight champion Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna (29-0-1, 21 KOs) the southpaw from Braintree, Massachusetts, by way of La Romana, Dominican Republic, will defend his title against #8 ranked Jason Sosa (18-1-4, 14 KOs), from Camden, New Jersey.

At Thursday’s weigh-in, Fortuna weighed in 130 pounds, while Sosa came in a half pound lighter at 129.5.

In the co-main, WBA International super bantamweight champion Jun Qiu Xiao (20-2, 9 KOs), from Suzhou, China, meets WBA Fedebol featherweight champion Nehomar Cermeno (23-5-1, 13 KOs), from Panama City, Panama, by way of Barcelona, Venezuela. At stake is the vacant WBA World super bantamweight title.

Both fighters weighed 121.8 pounds.

Two regional titles are also at stake Friday night. WBA Oceania and WBA International super featherweight champion Can Xu (8-2), the “Monster” from Kunming, China, defends his titles against WBA/PABA Asia Pacific super featherweight champion Corey McConnell (15-1-1, 2 KOs), from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

Can Xu weighed in at a lean and mean 127.75 pounds, while McConnell tipped the scales at 129.6 pounds.

In other regional title action, Alesia “The Tigress” Graf (27-5, 12 KOs), the veteran from Stuttgart, Germany, by way of Gomel, Belarus, fights Nohemi “No-No” Bosques (10-6-2, 2KO), from St. Petersburg, Florida, for the  WBA International bantamweight title.

Graf weighed 117.4 pounds. Bosques came in a little heavier at 117.6.

The fights will be televised live in China on CCTV5.
