Humble of origin, he had to work from a young age when he discovered his passion for boxing.

He made his first fight in 1959, at age 17, and was amateur until 1962. The following year he made ​​his debut in professional boxing, where he would manage big victories; he would make the Luna Park a mythical place for Argentine boxing, and also carve his name in history alongside the greats like Nino Benvenuti, who ripped of the title to Jose “Mantequilla” Nápoles and, Emile Griffith, among others.

He made a total of 14 successful defenses of his crown. He retired in 1977 with record 87-3-9-1, 29 KO’s.

He died in a car accident on January 8, 1995.
