Has a record of 24-0, 9 KO´s and will face Anton Novikov 29-0, 10 KO´s. He assures to be well prepared, and all the fights are important for him, the only different is that “this is my first defense and I am obliged to show why I won the title. Show my level of boxing, and win a chance of a big fight.”

With regards to his opponent, he did not spare in saying that he likes to fight unbeaten opponents, “they are the hardest, and you have to teach them you are better.” Beating someone who has not been defeated not only is dominate him physically, but to break him mentally, because they don’t know how to lose.”

He also said he studied him during his training for this fight. He says Novikov shoots many punches “and I’m ready to shoot many more punches than he. It is very possible that I knock him out; I do not rule that out. In fact, I will look for it.”

Nevada State Athletic Commission appointed Kenny Bayless as referee of the fight. Dave Moretti, Burt Clements and Glenn Trowbridge will judge the fight and the supervision will be in charge of Mike McAlleenan.
