Happy birthday “Chino” Maidana, the Argentinean Marco “Chino” Rene Maidana celebrates a new birthday and the World Boxing Association family sends its warmest greeting.

Maidana, who is currently making a promotional tour for his second title fight against the unified welterweight champion 147-pound Floyd Mayweather, is known for his hard boxing, with no fear to battle.

He was born in 1983 in the province of Margarita, Santa Fe. He is known as “Chino”, and started in boxing at the age of 14 and was an exemplary amateur boxer achieving a record of 84-4 before jumping to professional.

He knocked out his first opponent in 2004, with 35-4 and was super lightweight and welterweight champion of the WBA. Protagonist of big fights with Victor Ortiz, Amir Khan, Erik Morales, Jesús Soto Karas and Adrien Broner, and his last fight was against the undefeated Mayweather Jr.
