WBA light heavyweight Juergen Braehmer (43-2, 32 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli (38-7, 30 KOs) on Saturday night at the Stadthalle in Rostock, Germany. Braehmer was cut over the right eye and Maccarinelli’s right eye was closing after round one. Braehmer continued to bust up Maccarinelli in round two. The blinded Maccarinelli looked to land a big shot in round three while Braehmer played it safe. The ring doctor OK’d it to continue during the round. In round four the desperate Maccarinelli continued to pressure Braehmer as his face continued to swell up. The doctor OK’d the fight to continue during round five. Braehmer patiently continued to bust up Maccarinelli and Maccarinelli’s corner finally pulled him out after the fifth round. Officially TKO6.
