WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (35-2-1, 15 KOs) scored an impressive seventh round TKO over Ronald Hearns (26-2, 20 KOs) on Saturday night at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany. Sturm was in command the first two rounds, but Hearns, the son of ring legend Thomas “The Hitman” Hearns, picked up the pace in round three. Sturm responded aggressively in dominating round four with his jab. Sturm continued to break down Hearns in workmanlike fashion. The bout ended in round seven when Sturm connected with a huge right hand leaving Hearns unable to continue. Referee was Raul Caiz Jr. Time was 2:30. “He showed he deserves to have the title,” said the The Hitman, who watched the bout from ringside.
