McDonnell and Solis reached a new agreement.

Jamie McDonnell’s team and Liborio Solis’ team reached an agreement to have their rematch for the World Boxing Association Bantamweight title and thus, they avoided the purse bids ordered by the Championships Committee for Monday, August 21st, 2017.

This is the second time that a purse bid between them is canceled, since they had already reached an agreement in early July, but were unable to materialize it. Now they managed to solve their differences and in the next days, they will announce the date and time of the fight.

The two boxers had their fight last December and the victory went to McDonnell by unanimous decision (116-112, 115-113 and 117-111). Solís’ team requested the evaluation of the outcome because it seemed to them to be a controversial result. This request was taken care of by the Championships Committee and, later, a second fight between the boxers was ordered.

Team McDonnell and team Solis have 20 days to send the contracts duly signed to the WBA offices.
