Boston will have a great weekend of boxing. The TD Garden, home of the Celtics, will host a big card that will have, among other fights, the presence of the idol and champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) at lightweight, the Irish native Katie Taylor, in defense of her strap against the Puerto Rican native Cindy Serrano.

The billboard promoted by Matchroom Boxing has attracted a lot of attention in the city, which has been livened up by the fight activities during the week. This Thursday the last press conference was held before Saturday night’s match and both boxers talked about the great opportunity to be in that event.

“No doubt, this is going to be the toughest fight of my career. She has a great style and I have changed a lot,” said Taylor, Olympic medalist from London 2012. “This is going to be like a home away from home for me. There are many boxers from Ireland at the evening, I cannot wait,” she continued.

For her part, the challenger spoke about the importance of combat for her and the respect she has for her rival. “When the call came and they asked me if I wanted to fight with Katie Taylor, I said Demons, yes! This fight makes a lot of sense. Who does not like to eat? It really makes sense,” said the Puerto Rican.

Both will rise to the scales this Friday and will have to comply with the 135-pound regulations of the division. Taylor has a record of 10 wins, no losses and 5 knockouts, while Serrano has 27 wins, 5 losses, 3 draws and 10 knockouts.
