WBA Light Flyweight Champion Giovanni Segura of Mexico and his challenger Walter Tello of Panama met today for the first time today in the final press conference leading into next Saturday’s championship card presented by Top Rank and Promociones Zanfer and be telecast by Fox Sports Espanol and Fox Sports Net during the new series “Top Rank Live”. The card “Vive Acapulco 2010? will be at the “Centro de Espectaculos Albrige” and will include the son of the legend Omar “Businessman” Chavez and the return of Urbano Antillon, who takes on Luis “Vampiro’ Arce in the co-main event of the night. Segura (21-1-1, 18 KOs) of nearby Ciudad Altamirano, Guerrero will be fighting in his home state of the first time as a professional boxer.

“It’s going be a great night for me. I’m fighting in front of my own people for the first time and I will not let them down. I have come back as a champion and will remain their champion,” said a very excited Segura. He will defend his WBA Light Flyweight championship against Tello (14-3, 6 KOs) of Panama in what figures to be a clash of styles.

“I believe that it will be a good fight. Segura is a very powerful and aggressive, so I have to be smart and take advantage of his mistakes, because make no mistake about it, I will return to Panama with the belt,” said Tello.

At the press conference were Guillermo Brito of Zanfer, along with the Director of Tourism for the state of Guererro, Félix Avila, Carlos Reyes, the State Sports Director and Román Bello, Acapulco’s Director of Sports.

“Panama has had great boxers and I have always respected their fighters, but there is no way he is walking away from this fight with my belt. I just can’t wait to in the ring and hear the crowd behind me. It’s going to be the greatest night of my career,” said Segura.
