Juan Carlos Reveco (24-1, 14 KOs) of Argentina retained his WBA Interim light flyweight title against Armando Torres (13-6, 8 KOs) by way of fifth round TKO. Reveco who dominated the bout from the beginning with his superior handspeeed and power dropped Torres with a straight right hand in the third round.

Torres was OK and beat the count easily. However, in round five a brutal overhand right sent Torres crashing hard to the canvas. Torres amazingly beat the count and continued on. Reveco jumped on a visibly and still shaken Torres with a barrage of punches that prompted his corner to throw in the towel.

The referee acknowledging the towel had been thrown in stopped the bout at 2:28 of round five. The bout took place at the Polideportivo Vicente Polimeni in Las Heras, Mendoza, Argentina. Osvaldo Rivero promoted.
