Experienced Panamanian trainer Rigoberto Garibaldi continues working on improving the defensive skills of Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion for his upcoming WBA Super Flyweight championship bout against “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire Jr. “Rafa keeps being a raging bull,” Garibaldi said, “but he is now stronger, faster and with more upper body movement than he was when he won the WBA Interim championship last year in the Philippines, beating local fighter A.J. Banal. I studied Concepcion’s videos and he was taking too many punches before winning by knockout in recent fights.”

Garibaldi added, “When I became his trainer, my first concern was to make him a better representative of the traditional Panamanian boxing style.”  Concepcion works out at 1pm Monday to Saturday at the Pedro “El Rockero” Alcazar Gym in Curundu, Panama City, Panama.
