At Teiken’s big card that was staged in Tokyo, Japan, a battle of former champions ended early. Jorge Linares looked good in stopping Jesus Chavez after four rounds of lightweight action. Chavez suffered a shoulder injury during the contest and was unable to continue to the fifth round of the fight. Linares raises his record to 30-1, 19 KOs, and Chavez drops down to 40-8, 30KOs. For Chavez, it may be retirement time. He loses his fourth contest in a row. Chavez has not won a bout since September 2008.
