WBA Minimumweight world title holder Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez of Nicaragua and his Mexican challenger Ivan Meneses faced off today in advance of their showdown Saturday night at the Auditorio Siglo XXI in Puebla, Mexico.

“I expect to retain my world title and to seek better opportunities,” said Gonzalez. “I want to show that I am the best champion in the division.” Also on the card is a WBA Light Flyweight eliminator between the Venezuelan former world champion Juan Landaeta and the Mexican challenger Francisco “Chiquita” Rosas.
