WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (23-0, 20 KOs) destroyed Makoto Fuchigami (19-7, 10 KOs) in the third round on Saturday night at the Ice Palace “Terminal” in Brovari, Ukraine. The overmatched Fuchigami was cut by a punch in round one and dropped in round two by a hard Golovkin right hand. Golovkin really unloaded on Fuchigami in round three, putting him down again and it was waved off shortly after. The World Boxing Association has ordered that current “Super Champion” Felix Sturm and Golovkin must fight by September 30, 2012. Golovkin stated after the fight that he wants Sturm next. “If he calls himself a true champion, he must fight me,” said Golovkin.

Gennaday Golovkin, el campeón de la categoría Mediano de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, (23-0, 20 KOs) destruyó a Makoto Fuchigami (19-7, 10 KOs) en el tercer asalto de un combate que se llevó a cabo el sábado en el Ice Palace “Terminal” de Brovari, Ucrania.

Fuchigami fue duramente castigado y recibió una cortadura en el primer asalto y derribado en el segundo asalto por un fuerte derechazo de Golovkin. Fuchigami cayó nuevamente en el tercero por lo que se detuvieron las acciones en el mismo asalto.

La Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, ordenó que el actual Super Campeón Felix Sturm y Gennady Golovkin se enfrenten antes del 30 de septiembre de este año. Antes de este combate, Golovkin manifestó que quiere pelear con Sturm, aduciendo: “si él se considera un Super Campeón, debe pelear conmigo”.
