Ring Legend Oscar De La Hoya visited the Canal prior to Golden Boy Promotions/Promociones y Eventos del Itsmo boxing mega card on Saturday,

September 5th, 2009. The host of the visit was no other than the Canal minister Romulo Roux who described the current system of Miraflores Locks and the future plans of expansion.

At the end Oscar himself controlled the opening of the locks.
