It’s a show like no other before in this town, and the fact that one of its own, Alejandro “Alex” Valdez will be fighting for a world championship has everyone excited as the card gets closer. Today during the final press conference at a restaurant in downtown Ciudad Obregon, Valdez assures his fans that he is more than ready for the challenge that he has Saturday night. “I have prepared myself the best that I can and will give it my all to win. I don’t expect to lose in front of my hometown fans. I’m well aware of the great champion that I will be facing Saturday, but by the same token I know that I have the ability to beat him,” said Valdez to a full room of media.

Valdez will challenge Nehomar  Cermeño of Venezuela for the WBA Interim Bantamweight championship. “I have come to Mexico twice and left as a champion and I don’t think I’m going without my belt this time either. I know he will have a lot of support on Saturday night, but inside the ring it’s just he and I, and I don’t expect to lose” said Cermeño.
