Hotel Continental, in Panama City, held the final press conference for Thursday`s WBA world title clash when WBA super bantamweight champion Celestino “Pelenchin” Caballero risks his title against WBA # 14 world ranked Jeffrey “Mongoose” Mathebula from South Africa, in a highly anticipated rubbermatch.

The bout is co- promoted by Promociones y Eventos del Istmo, Duran Brothers Promotions and Panama´s local goverment.

The challenger was the first up to speak to the media in attendance. “Thanks to the Panamanian people for treating me well. I´m ready to fight and I will talk in the ring” said Mathebula. His trainer Nick Durant added, “we are not in Panama by accident or vacations. We´ll deliver a KO to Caballero!”

The champion responded “ It looks like the one who´ll fight me is his trainer, I´m glad that the Panamanias have treated you well, but I´m not treating Mathebula well in the ring next Thursday, I´ll crush his ribs and keep my belts”

In the co- main event Panama´s raising star and WBA # 2 flyweight world ranked Luis “El Nica” Concepcion continues his quest for a world title when he takes on Nicaraguan Ernesto “El Torito” Castro in a 8 round battle.

Also undefeated Alberto Mosquera will collide against William “La Esperanza” Gonzalez for the vacant WBA Fedelatin super lightweight title.

Undefeated young star Gabriel “Piolo” Dorado takes on contrymen Alejandro “El Esgrimista” Corrales for the vacant WBA Fedecentro Featherweight title.
