Acosta stops Moses in six, wins WBA title!

Miguel “Aguacerito” Acosta (27-3-2, 21KOs) is the new lightweight champion of the WBA, after knocking out previously undefeated Paulus Moses (25-1, 17KOs) in six rounds at the Kalahari Sands Hotel in the city of Windhoek, which is the capital of Namibia. The Venezuelan fighter had the backing of the Embassy of Venezuela, who came to support him in Namibia. Acosta’s work in the ring was based on speed and accurate punching. “I hit him at first with a left hook and after I connected with my right and he went down, he tried to get up but he could not. He had no legs,” said Acosta, who was very excited after the match. The absolute WBA king at lightweight also made a request, “I want the President to see me. I want a meeting with him. I will deliver signed gloves, and I hope to do this in the coming days when I arrive in Venezuela.” The next plans are to take a few months off, “there were ten months of working non-stop.”

“We have not signed with anyone yet, and we want to make it clear that we do not have any relationship with Don King. We have not signed the contract, we did not accept the offer because it did not favor Miguel. We will rest for a few days and wait for offers,” said Oscar Acosta, manager and father of the new champion.
