TOKYO, JAPAN
Unbeaten WBA super-feather champ Takashi Uchiyama (19-0-1, 16 KOs) will put his belt on the line against unbeaten Venezuelan Jaider Parra (20-0-1, 10 KOs) tomorrow (Monday) in Tokyo, Japan.  Uchiyama, making his seventh defense, respects his challenger’s unbeaten mark and hopes to concentrate on his successful defense.  In a companion title bout, newly crowned WBA super-fly titlist Kohei Kono (28-7, 11 KOs) will make his initial defense against interim champ, another Venezuelan Liborio Solis (14-3-1, 7 KOs) over twelve frames.  It will be a highly competitive contest as their previous ledgers indicate.  It is the first time that our champs risk the belts against Venezuelan challengers in a world title twinbill.
