Venezuelan WBA interim bantamweight champion Nehomar Cermeño arrived last night at the International Airport in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico to make his second defense against Alejandro “Alex” Valdez on Saturday, December 19. Cermeño (18-0, 10 KOs) vs Valdez (22-3-3, 15 KOs) will be a stellar clash presented by Zanfer Promotions and Larsa Communications and will be televised throughout Mexico on TV Azteca and in the United States on pay-per-view.

Cermeno arrived with his team led by Panamanian Roberto Garibali.

“I have had 8 weeks of preparation without any mishaps so that I can confront the Mexican Valdez. I’ve seen videos of Alex, he’s a good fighter, but I’m better than him. This Saturday I will prove that Alex Valdez will not spoil my big 2010 plans. I am 100% prepared to fight my challenger and it will be a great fight no doubt,” said Cermeño, who arrived from Panama City, Panama where he’s lived for years.
