Two warriors who put on a good boxing show.

World champion Jelena Mrdjenovich (41-10-2, 19 KOs) retained her World Boxing Association 126-pound title after defeating Iranda Paola Torres (12-5-1, 4 KOs) by unanimous decision at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Since the first bell, the Mexican boxer demonstrated that she wanted to win the fight, fighting in the middle distance and the cutting it to take advantage of her shorter height. Mrdjenovich did not stop advancing on her opponent from start to finish, achieving better punches with a variety of combinations up and down. Torres was able to hit good crosses on the champion’s face, but her supremacy of experience prevailed in the result.

Mrdjenovich once again demonstrated her strength in a fight with several punch exchanges, which caused her a cut to the right eyebrow after an accidental headbutt.

The Canadian champion came to this fight in good shape despite having a difficult year, as beyond the current world context, she lost her long-time coach Milan Lubovac due to a heart attack this year. This was Jelena’s first fight with a new corner headed by her current coach Jonathan Banks, who previously worked with Wladimir Klitschko, among others.

Jelena Mrdjenovich continues on the rise with the black and gold belt of the pioneer organization in the featherweight division.
