Medellín, home of the WBA 96th convention


The beautiful city of Medellin will host the World Boxing Association’s Ninety Sixth Convention from October 30th to November 2nd, 2017, to bring together the most important people in the world of boxing.

This convention will be totally different from the previous ones, as the WBA bets on a new model in which it can provide real contributions to the city that hosts the event. That is why the chosen venue was Medellín, a city that is recognized in the world for its progress in education and social inclusion to processes of change for a better life.

Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, president of the WBA, is sure that the Ninety Sixth Convention of the organization will be a success and said that over the course of weeks the surprises that the oldest boxing body has for this event will be unveiled.

This will be the second time that Medellín will host a WBA convention, the first time was in 2009.
