Katie Taylor and Rose Volante made weight for their fight for the Lightweight Title of the World Boxing Association (WBA). The Irish champion will face the Brazilian challenger at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

The European tipped the scale at 133.9 pounds, while the South American challenger cane in at 133.2 pounds, both being under the limit of 135 pounds for the division. Taylor is one of the most colorful fighters of today and has gradually been penetrating the US market thanks to her aggressive style and a personality that connects with the fans.

In this fight she will have to face a foe in Volante who arrives with little to lose and much to gain as she desires to make history over a great champion. Volante is a champion of another body and wants to unify crowns with Taylor, who owns two herself.

Taylor will be having the sixth defense of her WBA belt, and has a record of 12 wins, no losses, and 5 knockouts, while Volante has a record of 14 wins, no losses, and 8 knockouts.
